MI vs KKR will be an interesting contest on 31 Mar in IPL2025. Can MI register it’s first win of this season.
Both the teams are still looking for the right combinations by rotating players after the first match.
On 30 mar, in the first match Staarc of DC wrecked SRH top order allowing DC batsmen to easily beat SRH. In the second match, sending Overton lower down the batting order was poor captaincy by Dhoni. CSK could have easily beaten RR. Dhoni cant score runs and should quit or come last in batting order.
Analysis
MI
Lost both matches. Few blunders so far. Playing Minz and Santner in both matches- Both are average. Resting Puthur in the second match (3 wkts in the first match). Why rest Jacks after the first match? Hardik will now take charge of the team.
The opening pair is struggling. Barring Yadav and Varma, no other batsman in form. Average all rounders. The pacers need to find grooves. Raju is a poor choice as a pacer. Mujibur will contribute well. The pacers led by Boult are effective. Overall, The team is good but needs to be coherent in their efforts.
Likely to Shine- Rohit, Rickleton, Pandya, Mujibur.
KKR
Lost one and won one match. The top order (just Moeen in the top five) is among runs although openers are unable to give a good start. No logic in resting Russel after the first match.The middle order has not been tested so far. Three pacers led by Johnson and spinner led by Chakravarty are very effective. Overall, the team is balanced with top and middle yet to find roots.
Likely to shine- Iyer, Rinku, Moeen, Chakravarty
Comparison
MI has a very strong batting line up. Pacers of KKR are better. Spinners are at par. Overall MI has an edge due to the much stronger batting line up.
